Joseph Steinberg

Joseph Steinberg is a doctoral candidate at the University of Cambridge, where he teaches courses in modern, contemporary, and postcolonial literatures. His research examines how the form of the novel has been shaped by pedagogical practices, particularly by the emergence of creative writing as a subject at university. More generally, he is interested in how cultural institutions shape the production, circulation and valuation of literary fiction across a variety of anglophone contexts. His articles and reviews are published and forthcoming in the JASAL, AHR, and The Cambridge Quarterly.
