Abstract

The post-war years witnessed the first mass influx of non-English speaking immigrants in Australian history. It has taken several decades for the literature of this amorphous group to flourish and bear fruit. Critical evaluation of this highly significant corpus of Australian literature has been relatively tardy, as male Anglo-Celtic power groups have gradually ceded some of their pre-eminence.
