Abstract

Whilst this useful 'preliminary survey' (in the words of its compilers) is the first Australian publication concerned with literary anonymity the bulk of the entries have been readily accessible in other books, chiefly in Australian Literature (by Miller & Macartney, Angus & Robertson, 1956), now dated, and never definitive. Its appearance is certain to lead to the systematic opening up of the virtually hitherto neglected area of local bio-bibliographical detection.
